This is according to a report from Dan Marsh, who stated that the FA Cup holders have held talks with the 19-year-old, who is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer upon the expiration of his contract.

Campbell still has a lot of potential to grow, despite his imminent release from the Chelsea academy, which has led a plethora of Championship sides to register their interest in the shot-stopper, including QPR.

But if the Hoops are to get a deal done, they may have to fend off more attractive offers from top-flight sides.

The Mirror's Dan Marsh reported via his X account that Crystal Palace have held talks with Chelsea U21 goalkeeper Luke Campbell over a move.

With the 19-year-old out of contract this summer, interest in the exciting goalkeeper, who has spent his entire youth career to date in the Chelsea academy, is high.

Campbell impressed on his first loan move away from Chelsea this season at Isthmian Premier Division side Hendon, keeping nine clean sheets in 32 games during the first half of the 2024/25 campaign.

Upon being recalled in January, the prospect earned minutes in Chelsea's U21 side in both the Premier League 2 and the Premier League Cup, captaining the side in the latter.

Therefore, whoever landed Campbell this summer would find themselves with a goalkeeper who has clear potential to progress to the next level.

And if Crystal Palace have their way, the current FA Cup holders will be the 19-year-olds' next destination, with Oliver Glasner's side in need of a development squad goalkeeper following Louie Moulden's move to Norwich.

Eagles' late swoop could provide a big future blow to QPR

Whilst Luke Campbell wouldn't be brought in to immediately contest for a place in the QPR starting eleven, missing out on such a hot prospect at the end of his contract would be a tough blow for the Hoops.

Given Crystal Palace's recent development of young English goalkeepers, you wouldn't hold it against the 19-year-old if he wanted to continue his development at Selhurst Park.

League Two Team of the Season goalkeeper Owen Goodman was on loan at Wimbledon this past season from Crystal Palace, and Campbell may look at his fellow countryman as a success he'd quite like to replicate sometime soon.

If he can reach those heights in a few seasons' time, then QPR may look back on this as a missed opportunity to bring in an exciting prospect for next to nothing.
