RB Leipzig and AS Roma have been added to the list of clubs interested in signing Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln. The two clubs emerge as potential new destinations after Borussia Dortmund’s initial bid was deemed unacceptable by Köln officials on Thursday.
According to Sky Sports, Köln have been informed about the interest from the Serie A club. Roma saw their first target Crysencio Summerville complete his move to Saudi giants Al-Hilal on Friday for a transfer fee of €64.50m despite West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League.
Meanwhile, RB Leipzig are also keeping an eye on the 19-year-old youngster. Sky refer to Leipzig’s current approach for the transfer as “wait-and-see”. There are no offers submitted from RB Leipzig to Köln, but things could change immediately if they agreed with a club for the departure of Yan Diomande.
El Mala scored and assisted in Köln’s 8-0 win over SV Bergisch Gladbach 09 on Thursday. Köln officials continuously admired his exemplary attitude in pre-season training sessions despite the transfer saga. The player rejected a move to Brentford earlier in the transfer window.Borussia Dortmund will still be expected to return with another bid as Karim Adeyemi joined FC Barcelona after a four-year stint at the club. They are also currently working on the transfer of Konstantinos Karetsas from Belgian side Genk.
