RBL victorious on Demichelis’ touchline debut | OneFootball

The Red Bulls claimed a 2-1 victory over strong fourth-tier opposition VSG Altglienicke in their first friendly of the new campaign.

Brajan Gruda put RBL ahead after just eight minutes. The visitors then capitalised on a lapse in the Leipzig defence to draw level in the 23rd minute, and the equaliser was not undeserved.

Half time saw head coach Martín Demichelis send out a new XI for the second half. Johan Bakayoko restored their lead shortly after the restart, keeping his cool to finish after a lovely chipped pass from Rômulo (51’).

That proved to be the winner in an entertaining first friendly, ensuring RBL made a successful start to pre-season and giving Demichelis a victory in his first game in charge.
