Transfer stories at Real Madrid appear to be dominated by questions surrounding the left-back position after the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea created an excess of options in Jose Mourinho’s squad.

Now, according to Miguel Serrano, Real Madrid are not actively looking to part ways with Alvaro Carreras this summer, but the club has established the conditions under which they would consider a sale.

Los Blancos reportedly value the Spanish defender at €50 million and are unwilling to entertain offers below that figure, despite interest emerging from Chelsea.

The situation comes at a time when Real Madrid are expected to sanction at least one departure at left-back before the new season begins.

Carreras arrived at Real Madrid from Benfica last summer and remains highly regarded within the club despite increased competition for places.

However, the signing of Marc Cucurella has inevitably created congestion in the position, leading to speculation over potential exits.

Regardless, Real Madrid do not view Carreras as a player they need to offload immediately, although things might change if there is an offer worth €50 million.

On that note, Chelsea have been identified as the defender’s strongest admirer, but there appears to be a significant gap between both parties in terms of valuation.

The Premier League side are believed to value Carreras at around €25 million, a figure that Real Madrid consider unacceptable.

For now, any operation involving the player looks highly unlikely given the difference in expectations.

Carreras to stay as Fran Garcia considers departure

As of today, Carreras has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabéu.

Despite recognising that competition will intensify following Cucurella’s arrival, the left-back wants to remain at the club and fight for his place.

Carreras believes he can compete for minutes under Mourinho and is prepared to embrace the challenge presented by the new squad dynamics.

Fran Garcia, meanwhile, appears to be heading in a different direction, as he is currently viewed as the most likely candidate to depart to ease the overcrowding at left-back.

It is said that the Spaniard has already informed his representatives to evaluate every proposal that arrives over the next weeks.
