Real Madrid are expected to enter the market for at least one more centre-back in the summer of 2026 despite having spent heavily on Dean Huijsen this year.
After all, David Alaba’s contract expires at the end of the season and is unlikely to be renewed while Antonio Rudiger’s continuity is also not set in stone.
Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool, set to become a free agent, has already been identified as a key target by Los Blancos, who are now eyeing another Premier League defender in Marc Guehi.
Indeed, as per the Mirror, Real Madrid are among a host of top European clubs monitoring the situation of Marc Guehi, following the collapse of his deadline-day transfer to Liverpool.
The 25-year-old England star was bound for Anfield in a £35 million from Crystal Palace only for the Eagles to pull the plug on the deal late on deadline day.
However, Guehi’s contract with Palace expires at the end of the season and he is expected to depart Selhurst Park as a free agent when it happens.

Real Madrid, thus, have positioned themselves as an interested party in securing his services as a free agent next summer.
However, the competition for Guehi’s signing is expected to be intense as Barcelona are also monitoring the centre-back’s situation.
Meanwhile, German champions Bayern Munich have also entered the fray, along with Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus.
Furthermore, Liverpool are also likely to be in the picture as they would like to bring him in after missing out this summer.
Guehi will be allowed to negotiate with any foreign club of his desire from 1 January, when he enters the final six months of his contract.
Real Madrid have made it a habit of securing top free-agent signings in recent years, but given the competition, landing Guehi might prove to be a challenge.
