Diario AS reports that Real Madrid are among European giants monitoring Real Sociedad’s 19-year-old centre-back Jon Martin after his rapid rise this season.

Pellegrino Matarazzo’s arrival dragged La Real out of a relegation fight and into the European race, with a Copa del Rey final against Atletico Madrid set for 18 April in Seville.

A regular starter, Martin has been partnered by Duje Caleta Car or Igor Zubeldia, and he has delivered standout displays against Barcelona and Athletic Club in recent months.

Once a Spain youth partner of Pau Cubarsi, he is now reaching the level long projected at Real Sociedad. Madrid want a centre-back this summer and retain good relations with La Real, though they are expected to seek a more experienced option.

Behind the scenes he has cited Sergio Ramos, Carles Puyol and Virgil van Dijk as role models, and he remains committed to the Reale Arena. He renewed until 2031 in October and has a €50m release clause, a figure that may test Europes elite yet loyalty carries weight in Donostia-San Sebastian.
