French defender William Saliba has once again addressed his decision to sign a contract extension with Arsenal's Gunners, despite being linked with Real Madrid.

Weeks ago, William Saliba was rumored to be a potential reinforcement for Real Madrid. However, the Frenchman opted for stability. The tricolor defender ultimately extended his contract with Arsenal until 2030, and now has his sights set on winning silverware with the club. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the defender explained the motivations behind his choice.

"For me, it was an easy decision to extend because I wanted to continue with Arsenal—I feel at home there. What I’m missing are trophies. But there’s a good project, a very good coach, and I believe the trophies will come very soon. I wanted to settle here for the long term, it was an easy choice for me, and I hope for a lot of success," he declared.
