Real Sociedad set return dates for World Cup quartet at Zubieta | OneFootball

Only four Real Sociedad players are yet to report for pre-season, all of them World Cup participants. According to Diario Vasco, Oyarzabal plays the final tonight, while Sucic, Kubo and Guedes have been on leave after elimination with their national teams.

Kubo and Sucic will be the first to return next week. Kubo is due in on Thursday 23 July with the rest of the squad, Sucic follows on Friday 24.

Kubo’s condition remains to be seen after a left knee injury in his country’s opening match, which kept him out for the rest of the tournament. He will begin working away from the main group, who will already have more than two weeks of training.

Guedes will take a few more days, rejoining in 10 days on Wednesday 29 after not featuring at the World Cup. That gives him just over three weeks to sharpen up before the league opener on Friday 21 August against Betis at La Cartuja.

The captain will be the last back. Oyarzabal, set to start his holidays in the coming days, is due at Zubieta on 10 August, which allows three weeks of rest. He will have limited time to prepare for the first match of the season.
