Régis Le Bris says Sunderland are well set for the summer window after a successful return to the Premier League, crediting Florent Ghisolfi’s behind-the-scenes rebuild while stressing the market remains unpredictable.

According to Sunderland Echo, Ghisolfi arrived last summer, led a major recruitment drive to prepare for the top flight, then overhauled the scouting operation over the past 10 months, installing a new team assessing targets for this window and beyond.

Le Bris remains focused on the run-in but will feed his views into upcoming recruitment meetings. He believes tighter links between Ghisolfi, training data and competitive performance mean a better workflow. Scouts are tracking multiple leagues and convene every two or three months, with another meeting held last week.

European qualification remains possible, albeit less likely after back-to-back defeats, which could require a deeper squad. Le Bris said the club have not specifically planned for that scenario, but their structure gives room to adapt and they would adjust numbers if needed.

Earlier this month Ghisolfi said they will try to improve the team this summer, but stability is the priority. He set out a sustainable approach, saying Premier League revenues mean they do not need to sell, though players may still move on as part of natural cycles and to show prospects a pathway.
