Reports in Italy claim that Nico Paz is keen to stay on with Como for another season, despite his former club Real Madrid having the option of signing him back for a below-market fee of €9m this summer.
The Argentine talent finds himself in the middle of a tug of war between Como, who have just qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, and Real Madrid, where the 21-year-old spent the majority of his youth career.
Paz joined Como for a fee of just €6m in the summer of 2024, but that deal included a 50% sell-on clause for Real Madrid, and also a series of low-cost buy-back clauses, specifically for €8m last summer, €9m this summer and €10m in the summer of 2027.

For several months, it has been reported that Real Madrid have already made the decision to activate their buy-back clause for Nico Paz this summer.
However, Como head coach Cesc Fabregas has recently made it clear that the club wish to keep hold of the recently-crowned Serie A midfielder of the year, and now, reports from Gianluca Di Marzio claim that Nico Paz himself wishes to stay in Italy for another year as well.
Tuesday’s report claims that Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho are still keen to bring Paz back to the Bernabeu.
Como hope, however, that the upcoming Presidential elections involving Florentino Perez in the Spanish capital will serve as a sort of distraction to Real Madrid. Los Blancos have less than two weeks remaining until their buy-back clause expires for another year.
