With the January transfer window closing in just a few hours, clubs are making their final moves to lock in key deals. One of those deals involved Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, who left Old Trafford for Villa Park.

Last month, Ben Jacobs of Give Me Sport reported that although Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t pursued Rashford recently, the club’s sporting advisor, Luis Campos, is closely monitoring the situation.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has previously spoken with Rashford’s representatives, but any further talks would likely depend on whether the player shows a strong interest in moving to Paris. This cautious approach follows Rashford’s decision to sign a five-year contract extension with Manchester United back in July 2023.

Jacobs also mentioned that Rashford is considering a move to La Liga, with Barcelona reportedly showing interest. However, financial constraints could make this transfer difficult, with a loan deal being the most likely outcome—if Manchester United is willing to cover a large part of his wages.

On Monday, Graeme Bailey, TBR Football’s chief correspondent, reported, citing sources, that Monchi had a conversation with Unai Emery and managed to convince him to consider signing Rashford on loan. The former Sevilla sporting director is confident that Emery is the right person to help revitalize Rashford, who has been described as “unbelievable.”

This past weekend, it was confirmed that Rashford would be leaving Manchester United to join Aston Villa on loan. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also shared a statement from Rashford, explaining why he chose to make the move to Villa Park.

“I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen,” Rashford said. “I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”

Recently, TEAMtalk reported that the Premier League club values Rashford at around £50 million to £60 million as they look to raise funds while managing their transfer strategy. However, the Red Devils might have to wait and hope that Rashford has a successful loan stint to garner this fee.
