Manchester City have received their 2026/27 Premier League fixture schedule after confirmation of the upcoming campaign’s calendar on Friday morning.
Incoming manager Enzo Maresca’s primary objective for his debut summer at the Etihad Stadium will undoubtedly be reconstructing the first-team squad to recapture the Premier League title from Arsenal.
Explained: Where Enzo Maresca compensation talks stand between Man City and Chelsea
While Manchester City successfully secured a domestic cup double during the final year of Pep Guardiola’s legendary 10-year tenure, the club has now gone consecutive seasons without the top-flight crown – a sharp contrast to four straight league titles accumulated up to 2024.
To reverse this trend, Sporting Director Hugo Viana is expected to orchestrate several marquee market moves, headlined by a potentially record-breaking swoop for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.
Additionally, City retain a strong interest in Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali, though any formal approach for the Italian could remain dependent on outgoings given the doubtful futures of Rodri, Nico González, Tijjani Reijnders, and Mateo Kovačić.
Fortunately for Maresca, the club is already on the verge of finalising lucrative long-term contract extensions for stars Phil Foden, Joško Gvardiol, and Jeremy Doku, while a fresh bumper deal has also been presented to Rodri.
Contract security provides stability, especially with ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the likes of James Trafford, Rúben Dias, Rico Lewis, Savinho, and Omar Marmoush following City’s recent 2nd place league finish and round of 16 Champions League exit.
The Premier League has officially confirmed that Manchester City will launch their title reclamation campaign at home against Bournemouth on Sunday, August 23, with a 14:00 UK kick-off scheduled live on Sky Sports.
