Olympiacos head coach José Luis Mendilibar has this week moved to lavish praise on a member of the midfield ranks at upcoming opponents Barcelona.

The player in question? Pedri.

Midfielder Pedri is for his part of course currently in the midst of one of the finest stretches of form of his career.

From his berth at the base of Barcelona’s engine room, the 22-year-old has week after week shone on both sides of the ball.

Pedri’s game continues to grow all the time, with the Spanish international now boasting a complete repertoire of touch, dribbling, passing, vision, work rate, tackling, and impact in the final third.

Such talents have given rise to mounting praise from across the world of football for Pedri of late.

And as alluded to above, adding his name to the list of the Spaniard’s public backers this week was José Luis Mendilibar.

Speaking during a press conference ahead of Olympiacos’ Champions League showdown with Barcelona on Tuesday, Mendilibar went as far as to state:

”Pedri is so good that you culés are almost forgetting about Xavi and Iniesta. He’s the one who controls the best, the one who makes the best passes… Everything.”
