Leicester City's title success in 2015/16 is arguably the greatest achievement in English football history all things considered, certainly of the post-1992 Premier League era.
Central to that success was Riyad Mahrez, who wowed on a weekly basis, never more so than on this day nine years ago at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City.
The Foxes' incredibly unlikely title charge had built up serious momentum by the new year, but a visit to City posed one of their biggest challenges yet, with Manuel Pellegrini's looking to get back into contention themselves.
Instead, it proved to be another statement of proper intent, as Claudio Ranieiri's side ran out 3-1 winners, with Mahrez netting this stunning goal to make it 2-0, and effectively end the game as a contest.
It's little wonder he picked up the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.
The goal encapsulated a lot of what Leicester were about, with N'Golo Kanté winning the ball and feeding it to the brilliant Algerian, who did the rest. Throw in Jamie Vardy in peak form, the rest of the supporting cast and Ranieiri, and you had a perfect storm to shock the world.
Mahrez later joined City, and this goal was probably part of the recruitment pitch.
