Rob Edwards explains Joao Gomes’ omission from Wolves squad | OneFootball

Rob Edwards says Joao Gomes has been left out of Wolves’ final-day trip to Burnley due to a knee issue.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Brazilian is the subject of talks with Atletico Madrid and is expected to depart in the summer window, but he has not been risked for the match at Turf Moor.

Edwards explained that Gomes had felt his knee, did not train yesterday and the staff chose not to push him.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has also been omitted from the squad to face the Clarets as he is unwell.

Edwards said Bellegarde failed to report yesterday, the club doctor visited him and he has been kept away from the group because of a sickness bug.
