Roma looks to the future with a clear strategy: to guarantee economic resources through intelligent sales, while avoiding weakening the backbone of the team.
A project in which the Head of the Technical Area Florent Ghisolfi has already drawn the guidelines, aiming for a target of around 60 million euros from capital gains generated by players considered non-strategic in the club’s long-term plans, writes Corriere dello Sport.
The first step for the sustainability of the Giallorossi project remains the placement in Europe.
Qualification for a UEFA competition would mean direct revenues and greater appeal for new sponsors and players.
However, even in the event of a negative outcome, the club has planned an alternative plan to consolidate the balance sheet without compromising technical competitiveness.
In detail, the operations studied by Ghisolfi include:
6.5 million from Inter for the redemption of Zalewski, now increasingly close to remaining in the Nerazzurri;
8 million from Benfica for the Swedish full-back Dahl, the revelation of the season;
7-8 million from Celik, promised to Fulham since January;
7-8 million from Tammy Abraham, who will most likely remain at Milan next season;
4-5 million from Hermoso, destined for a quick move after returning from Bayer Leverkusen;
22 million from Sunderland for Enzo Le Fée, one of the most significant capital gains of the session.
In this case, however, we must hope for the promotion to the Premier League of the English team, which will have to play the Championship playoffs.
The philosophy of the club is clear: to cash in on players who have been out for some time, in order to strengthen the team with new targeted additions, capable of increasing quality without negatively impacting financial stability. A delicate balance that requires vision, operational speed and the ability to read the market well.
Ghisolfi’s work continues on two tracks: on the one hand, maximizing the value of transfers, on the other, the search for profiles capable of raising the technical level of the squad. A complex, but necessary, task for a Roma that wants to return to being a protagonist in Italy and Europe.
