Roma Probe Talent to Deputize Malen, Genoa After Dovbyk | OneFootball

Roma are keen on Nicolò Tresoldi to back up Donyell Malen, should they part ways with Artem Dovbyk. Club Brugge request roughly €30M for him, bonuses included, but an investment to add him can’t be ruled out, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

The 21-year-old was born in Cagliari but never played in Italy, as his family transferred to Germany early. He got his start at Hannover and eventually headed to Belgium for €7.5M in 2025. He filled his boots last season, notching 23 goals and 9 assists in 58 appearances. The youngster has 24 caps with the U-21 squad under his belt, hitting the net on 12 occasions.

Roma will potentially accelerate for Tresoldi only after offloading Dovbyk, who has suitors in Spain and is being targeted by Genoa. The Ukrainian striker played well under Daniele De Rossi, but he has a €3.5M annually salary. The Giallorossi would have to contribute to it, hope he rehabs his valuation on loan, and postpone the permanent sale to next summer, Il Secolo XIX reports. It’s not outside the realm of possibility, but they’ll try to cash in on him first.

The capital club has also shortlisted less expensive options to round out their frontline. Andrea Pinamonti is likely to leave Sassuolo this summer and has a €15/20M valuation. Lazio are monitoring him too and are also tracking Fiorentina’s Roberto Piccoli, TuttoSport informs (via Calciomercato).

The role isn’t necessarily a priority, as Malen is going to get the lion’s share of minutes, and they could patch up the role in a pinch if they kept Paulo Dybala and signed Mason Greenwood. There’s no shortage of okay second-tier Italian deputies on the market, but their owners do like to acquire talented youngsters.
