Romeu Tuma Júnior rejects Osmar Stabile’s bid to convene vote on his removal at Corinthians | OneFootball

Romeu Tuma Júnior, president of Corinthians’ Conselho Deliberativo, says Osmar Stabile’s bid to call an extraordinary session to vote on his provisional removal is irregular under the club statute. According to Meu Timao, he also said no such meeting is scheduled.

Stabile had set 23 March at the Teatro do Parque São Jorge, first call 18:00 and second 19:00, citing article 112, item 6, on urgent extraordinary meetings. Tuma argues only the council president may convene the body under article 82, II, b.

He said the next council meeting is 27 April to vote on the 2025 accounts of Stabile’s administration, which took office after Augusto Melo’s impeachment in May. Tuma added this aligns with the Comissão de Ética e Disciplina.

Council vice-chair and Ethics chief Leonardo Pantaleão co-signed Tuma’s dispatch. He alleged threats from life members planning to remove him if he misses Monday’s session.

A complaint alleging illegalities in Stabile’s call was filed with the São Paulo state prosecutor. Prosecutor Cássio Conserino said he lacks direct jurisdiction, noted possible links to existing spending probes, and sent the case to the Public and Social Patrimony unit handling a civil inquiry into possible judicial intervention.

In his notice, Stabile urged urgent analysis over alleged misconduct, an ongoing disciplinary case and the disrupted 9 March statute-reform meeting. He cited witness and documentary evidence, a disciplinary representation to the Ethics Committee, a police report and a request for interim suspension.
