Rotherham United have appointed former Sunderland and Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark as head coach.
The club said in a statement that he has been installed as first-team manager on a short-term deal running to the end of 2025/26, with the move completed on Wednesday afternoon.
The Millers sit 22nd in League One, five points behind Blackpool with a game in hand. They lost 5-0 at Peterborough United on Tuesday, a result that prompted the club to part company with Matt Hamshaw.
League leaders Lincoln City await this weekend, when Clark will oversee his first fixture. A press conference is scheduled tomorrow to present him and preview the trip.
Clark, 53, has previously managed Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City, Blackpool and Kilmarnock, and most recently took charge of Al-Merrikh in the Sudan Premier League.
