Ruben Amorim blocked Pervis Estupiñán move to Benfica

Ruben Amorim is said to have blocked Pervis Estupiñán’s move to Benfica during the last transfer window, Record reports.

The Portuguese coach arrived at Milan at the start of this season. Benfica instead filled the left-back slot by signing Souffian El Karouani on loan from Saudi side Al Qadsiah.

Despite summer links away, Estupiñán stayed at Milan. The 28-year-old joined in 2025 from Brighton. He remains in Amorim’s squad and could face Benfica in the Europa League.

Milan paid €17 million for Estupiñán and he struggled in his debut campaign at San Siro, making only 22 appearances with one goal and one assist.

He has featured in three matches this season.
