Ruben Blanco and Pol Lirola depart Marseille on free transfers | OneFootball

Marseille have continued their January clear-out, with Ruben Blanco and Pol Lirola leaving the club on free transfers. The club said the pair had departed.

Blanco arrived in summer 2022 on loan from Celta Vigo and never secured the number one shirt at the Vélodrome.

Despite being under contract until 2027, the 30-year-old goalkeeper has been released. Used sparingly, his exit trims the wage bill as Marseille reshape their squad.

Lirola has joined Hellas Verona on a deal running until the end of the season.

Lirola first arrived on loan in January 2021 before a permanent move reportedly worth €13m. He made 95 appearances for Marseille, scoring four and providing eight assists.
