Rúben Soares is leaving Benfica after 12 years to join the backroom team at Como 1907 under Cesc Fàbregas. Record reports that the analyst will become part of the Italian club’s coaching staff.

The 35-year-old is set to begin a new chapter at Como 1907, coached by Fàbregas, who will compete in the Champions League.

During his time at Benfica, Soares worked with Bruno Lage, Jorge Jesus, Roger Schmidt and José Mourinho.

In a farewell posted on social media, he reflected on the difficulty of leaving what he considered home, thanking friends, colleagues, players, supporters and the club, and highlighting the people, memories, values and happiness from multiple trophies.

He framed the move as stepping out of his comfort zone to embrace a new challenge and continue growing, while stressing that Sport Lisboa e Benfica will always be part of his story.
