Rafael Leao was a key player for AC Milan in their 4-0 win against Udinese last night. As highlighted by the journalist Sandro Sabatini, if the winger wanted to, then he could win the Ballon d’Or three years in a row.
Leao opened the scoring for Milan with a lovely curling effort, leaving the goalkeeper absolutely no chance. Then, he was heavily involved in the third goal and assisted the fourth, showing just how decisive he can be on a good night. Rightfully so, he was named the MOTM by the papers.
In his editorial for Calciomercato.com this morning, the journalist Sandro Sabatini shared his thoughts on Milan’s unexpected win. Among other things, he stated that Leao could win the Ballon d’Or three years in a row if he applied himself consistently.
“The surprise, not only as a starter, is Jovic with expert in movements with and without the ball, which gives serenity to the whole team. And then there is Leao who plays like… Leao. Nothing new. If he had the desire and continuity equal to his talent, he would be the Ballon d’Or for three years in a row,” he writes.
Perhaps a bit exaggerated from the journalist, but the point remains that Leao could be a lot more decisive for Milan on a consistent basis. He has the quality, quite clearly, and when he plays like yesterday then few can stop him.
