According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos issued an official statement after Brazil’s medical team identified a grade two injury in Neymar’s right calf, a different assessment from the club’s earlier description of a simple oedema.
All of the forward’s tests had been shared with the CBF by 18, the day of his call-up. The recovery count was set from 17 May, with an initial two week estimate running to Sunday 31, and timelines can vary by player, team needs and the importance of fixtures.
Santos professionals form part of the national team’s physiotherapy staff, have worked with Neymar for more than 10 years, and are directly involved in his current recovery.
There is full alignment between Santos’ medical department and the CBF’s over the treatment schedule.
The club expressed confidence in his recovery and believes he will be ready to play at the World Cup. Since leaving the pitch, Neymar has been working on strengthening and physical recovery at CT Rei Pelé.
