Santos ‘to regularise’ image-rights delay before Flamengo | OneFootball

Santos have delayed two months of image-rights payments, heightening scrutiny before a meeting with Flamengo at the Maracanã.

According to ESPN Brasil, the delay had been anticipated due to an accounting adjustment after paying a transfer ban over a debt to Arouca of Portugal, linked to the R$ 15.3 million signing of centre-back João Basso.

The issue is expected to be regularised in the coming days, before the Flamengo clash. Players’ salaries are current, unlike image-rights sums.

Before that encounter, Flamengo visit Red Bull Bragantino in Bragança Paulista on Thursday 02 at 21:30 Brasília time, in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Flamengo then host Santos at the Maracanã on Sunday 05 at 17:30 Brasília time, a 10th round fixture.
