São Paulo agreed on Friday to loan midfielder Alisson to rivals Corinthians, but the move will be completed only after an upfront R$ 1 million payment, according to Globo.com.
The deal calls for R$ 1 million to be paid immediately, with a further R$ 500 thousand due in the second half of the year.
At the end of the one-year loan, Corinthians would need to pay €2.5 million, about R$ 15.5 million at current rates, to keep Alisson.
The contract, yet to be signed, includes a R$ 2 million fee if Alisson plays against São Paulo, plus a R$ 1.5 million bonus if he features for at least 45 minutes in 20 or more matches.
Corinthians are expected to make the initial payment on Saturday. Alisson is undergoing medical tests while he waits for clearance, and the clubs’ legal teams are exchanging drafts.
A permanent move was initially discussed, but head coach Hernán Crespo was not enthused by the players Corinthians offered to São Paulo, so the swap was dropped.
Amid negotiations, Alisson has played only 45 minutes this season and was omitted from São Paulo’s last two Campeonato Paulista matches.
