Reports in Italy suggest Maurizio Sarri is Napoli’s leading candidate to replace Antonio Conte in 2026-27 if he leaves, according to Alfredo Pedullà.
Conte remains under contract at the Stadio Maradona. His future is set to be discussed in the coming weeks, with a meeting expected between him and the hierarchy, including president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
The report said confirmations were emerging from multiple sides that Sarri is the club’s top name for next season, should the club and Conte decide to part ways.
Sarri returned to Lazio last summer but has endured a troubled campaign at the Stadio Olimpico after a summer transfer embargo prevented the Biancocelesti from making new signings for the first part of the season.
The 67-year-old previously spent three seasons at Napoli from 2015 to 2018. He won 98 of 148 matches and missed out on the Scudetto in his final year despite collecting 91 points.
