Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing the Club Brugge defender Joaquin Seys at the end of the season.
According to a report from SportsBoom, the two Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on the talented young defender, and they have sent Scouts to watch him in action.
Seys is a modern fullback who can operate on either flank. He will help out defensively and create opportunities going forward as well. Both teams need more quality and depth in the wide areas, and the versatile fullback could prove to be a superb addition.
He could cost around €35 million in the summer, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs are willing to pay up. The report claims that scouts from the Premier League clubs believe the player has “elite-level potential”.
The asking price is reasonable for a player of his talent, and he could justify the investment in future.
The opportunity to move to Arsenal or Manchester United will be exciting for the player as well. It would be a step up in his career, and he would get to test himself against world-class players in the Premier League. Regular exposure to English football could help him improve further and fulfil his potential.
The player has a contract with the Belgian club until 2029, and they are under no pressure to sell him in the summer. Arsenal and Manchester United will have to pay the asking price if they want to get the deal done.
The 21-year-old defender has four goals and seven assists to his name in all competitions this season. He could prove to be a very useful option for both teams, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
