The Seattle Sounders survived a comeback scare against Minnesota United to force game-three in the MLS Cup Playoffs first-round.

It looked like it would be a cakewalk for Seattle as they raced out to a three-goal lead in the opening 40 minutes.
Goals from Obed Vargas, Jordan Morris, and Danny Musovski had the Lumen Field rocking, but collapse ensued.
Two goals in first-half stoppage time saw Minnesota pull to within one goal at the break and stun the hosts.
It seemed all set up for a potentially chaotic second-half as Minnesota chased the equalizer, but the Brian Schmetzer-effect kicked in the second interval.
The Sounders put on a clinic in fending off the late Minnesota push, and put the game to bed in the dying minutes on the break thanks to Obed Vargas, who secured his brace from the edge of the box.
The series will now turn back to Minnesota for the decisive game-three at Allianz Field.
