Atalanta were held to another disappointing 1-1 draw, this time by Parma, as Patrick Cutrone scored on his debut to cancel out the Mario Pasalic opener.
Neither side had a good start to the season, as Carlos Cuesta’s men were beaten 2-0 by Juventus, with an extensive injury list including Hernani, Matija Frigan, Jacob Ondrejka and Nicolas Trabucchi, but at least Botond Balogh returned from suspension. New buys Gaetano Oristanio and Patrick Cutrone were on the bench. La Dea continued to miss Ederson, Sead Kolasinac, Mitchel Bakker and transfer enigma Ademola Lookman after a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Pisa.

Atalanta had a huge opportunity to take the lead after 19 minutes when Marten de Roon caught Mandela Keita napping playing out from the back, so with Zion Suzuki off his line, Gianluca Scamacca attempted the lob only to hit the upright of an open goal.
Lautaro Valenti’s scorching volley skimmed the near post from distance, while Adrian Bernabé stung Marco Carnesecchi’s gloves too.
Gaetano Oristanio made his Parma debut and immediately forced a tough save out of Carnesecchi, who had also parried the Mateo Pellegrino rebound, but there was a handling offence in the build-up.
Pellegrino also nodded the Valenti cross wide of the far post, while Kamaldeen Sulemana wasted a promising counter-attack when set up by Charles De Ketelaere.

Nikola Krstovic turned one effort wide and hit another weak finish straight at Suzuki, but he proved crucial for the breakthrough.
The former Lecce striker laid it off with his back to goal for a Pasalic daisy-cutter from the edge of the area that went through a sea of legs.

However, it didn’t last long, as Parma drew level when Enrico Del Prato’s towering header on a free kick was palmed off the line one-handed by Carnesecchi, with debutant Cutrone quickest to react on the rebound from close range.
