Fabrizio Romano is reporting that there are “serious chances” for Anthony Gordon to leave Newcastle United this summer.

Bayern Munich are mentioned as one of Gordon’s main suitors, as well as clubs in the Premier League in Romano’s latest post about it on his YouTube channel.

This follows previous reports on Gordon’s future, with the England international linked as a target for both Liverpool and Arsenal by the Telegraph.

Christian Falk also has an update on Gordon today, saying Bayern have had some talks with the player’s representatives, as per his exclusive CF Bayern Insider column.

Fabrizio Romano on Anthony Gordon transfer

“I tell you today that Anthony Gordon has really serious chances to leave Newcastle in the summer transfer window,” Romano said.

“At the moment, Bayern are really interested in the player. Premier League clubs could also appear on scene quite soon.

“So, it’s between Bayern and Premier League at this stage, but Anthony Gordon is attracting serious interest and could be one of the names to watch.

“Depends also on the price tag Newcastle will decide. But according to my information, there is a serious strong possibility to see Anthony Gordon leaving Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.”

Christian Falk’s Anthony Gordon to Bayern transfer update

Meanwhile, Falk also has an update on Gordon’s future today, saying: “It is TRUE: There was a meeting with Anthony Gordon’s agents. Gordon has an English agent and a German agent; the German one, Gordon Stipic-Wipfler (of Unique Sports Group), met with Max Eberl, Bayern’s head of sport, for the first round of talks.

“At the moment, it seems there are no problems between Anthony Gordon and Bayern Munich when it comes to trying to find a solution. There are some numbers in the air, but these haven’t been concretely negotiated.”

He added: “That said, there could be a problem with the transfer fee Newcastle are looking for – especially if the Premier League club commits to a price tag of £80m [€92.6m]. At that point, it’s getting really, really difficult. The supervisory board at Bayern Munich would say they were thinking in the region of £60m [€69.4m]. I think this wouldn’t be a problem. But £80m would be too much.”

Where will Anthony Gordon end up?

At the moment, it seems like Bayern’s interest is the most advanced, but the price could also be an issue for the Bundesliga giants.

It could be that Gordon’s fee would be more affordable for English clubs, but then Newcastle will also surely look to avoid losing the 25-year-old to a Premier League rival.

Still, Bayern already have a world class front three in Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz, so LFC and AFC arguably need this signing much more.

Gordon could help Liverpool with replacing Mohamed Salah this summer, while Arsenal surely need an upgrade on inconsistent duo Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
