Sean Neave fired Newcastle's second-string into an early lead at Whitley Park courtesy of Park's assist, the South Korean winger's second in as many league matches following Monday's 2-2 draw away at Leicester City.
The 18-year-old, a representative of his country at under-20 level, doubled his side's lead before half-time following a curling effort from the edge of the box, the promising teenager's fourth goal involvement in his last six league outings at under-21 level.
The Seoul-born youngster, carrying out his first interview in English since last summer's move from Suwon Bluewings, said: "I'm so proud of the team. Everyday in training, we are working so hard and it's perfect.
"I am so happy but I want more and more practice everyday in training. I hope I can quickly play in the first-team."
Adjusting to life in England after moving thousands of miles from his home country for the first time, Park may require extra English lessons as he slowly grasps a new language but his footballing ability has been doing the talking for him in recent weeks.
The left winger, who made his first-team debut for Eddie Howe's side during a pre-season friendly against RCD Espanyol in August's clash at St. James' Park, believes he has made significant progress both on and off the pitch since his transfer to Tyneside.
He explained: "Physically, I think when I first came I was here (gestures low), now I am here (gestures slightly higher) but I need to be here (gestures even higher) like Anthony Gordon.
"I feel better and I am getting better [both physically and mentally]."
