Sevilla came from behind to beat Espanyol 2-1, hitting 40 points and cranking up a fraught LaLiga survival fight for Valencia, Elche and Levante.

Matchday 35 in the basement began at pace, with Levante defeating Osasuna before Elche drew 1-1 with Alavés in Alicante. According to Superdeporte, Sevilla's victory at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán lifts them to twelfth after back-to-back wins.

Espanyol struck first through Dolan on 56 minutes, but Andrés Castrín levelled on 82 and Akor Adams completed the turnaround late on. The result moves the Andalusians above Elche and Espanyol, and also ahead of Valencia, Mallorca and Girona, who still have to play.

Elche's point takes them to 39, level with Valencia and Espanyol. The relegation line sits at 37 points. Survival continues to look costly, recalling 2011 when Deportivo went down with 43.

Espanyol have not won a league game in Seville since 2010/11. Since then the hosts have nine wins and four draws, the most recent draw arriving last season at 1-1.

The round continues on Sunday with Mallorca v Villarreal at 14:00, Athletic v Valencia at 16:15 and Oviedo v Getafe at 18:30, then on Monday with Rayo Vallecano v Girona at 21:00.
