Shea Charles back in Southampton training as Leeds United interest persists | OneFootball

Shea Charles has reported back at Southampton amid continued Leeds United interest in the 22-year-old Northern Ireland midfielder.

Southampton posted training photos on social media that showed Charles back with the squad after an extended break. He had been granted extra time off following Northern Ireland’s June friendlies against Guinea and France.

Leeds hope to bring Charles in before their second season back in the Premier League, but approaches have so far been rejected. The Whites continue to wait in their bid for his signature.

Southampton, preparing for a second season in the Championship after being expelled from the play-offs following the Spygate saga, resumed pre-season last week.

The Saints visit Colchester United in the Carabao Cup first round on Saturday, August eight. The Championship season then begins over the weekend of Saturday, August 15.
