Simeone rallies group, puts Atlético into camp and calls up everyone for Copa final | OneFootball

Diego Simeone has tweaked his usual pre-match plan for Saturday’s Copa final. Atlético will gather tonight at a Madrid hotel, stay overnight and head to Seville tomorrow morning to keep the squad together.

According to AS, Atlético trained at their Majadahonda base, but Simeone kept his selection under wraps. The Barcelona starters did recovery work, while the others trained on the pitch, including Baena, Almada, Pubill and Nico.

No player has been ruled out, though it appears unlikely that Giménez and Hancko will make it. Barrios trained with the group and is important to Simeone, yet starting also looks difficult. He could feature in the second half.

Along with Hancko and Giménez, Nahuel Molina and Sorloth did not work on the pitch. Atlético have had scant recovery time after Tuesday’s quarter-final second leg against Barcelona.

The push for silverware is outweighing the fatigue from a demanding schedule. Simeone will call up the full squad for the final and has added Esquivel, Boñar and Julio Díaz.
