According to L'Équipe, Simon Pouplin has been appointed Auxerre’s new goalkeeping coach, with Will Still’s backroom staff now complete.

The Belgian, aged 33, was permitted to bring four collaborators. His brother, Nicolas, continues as assistant, as he did at Reims then Lens. Barthélemy Delecroix also arrives as head of performance, having been LOSC’s fitness coach from 2014 to 2018 and worked with Still at Stade de Reims.

Clément Lemaitre, a video analyst who has regularly worked alongside Still, joins too after previous spells together at Reims, Lens and Southampton. The final outstanding position had centred on the goalkeeping role.

Pouplin previously coached the OL Lyonnes women’s goalkeepers in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, and as a player represented Stade Rennais, FC Sochaux and SC Fribourg. Auxerre confirmed the coaching structure for 2026-2027 late on Thursday afternoon.

The club will also lean on three former players. Djibril Cissé is assistant in charge of attackers, Jean-Alain Boumsong oversees defenders, and Cyril Jeunechamp handles the oversight and development of young prospects. The trio played together in Yonne in the 2000-2001 season.
