When the world’s attention turns to football, the Red Bulls will be right in the thick of it.
The biggest World Cup of all time will take place in the USA, Mexico and Canada from 11th June to 19th July, and no fewer than six RBL players are set to compete on the greatest stage in the sport.
David Raum, Christoph Baumgartner, Xaver Schlager, Nicolas Seiwald, Yan Diomande and Antonio Nusa will represent their countries at the world’s biggest international football tournament. For them, it is the fulfilment of a childhood dream – and for every RBL fan, there will be plenty of reasons to keep a very close eye on the tournament over the coming weeks.
We’ll keep you up to date regarding our players at the World Cup, including fixtures, results, stories and all the key updates on our boys.
David Raum has earned his second World Cup call-up after 2022 thanks to a string of strong performances. Our captain has long since established himself as an important player in Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann’s side. "This call-up is something really special for me. The little boy in me, who used to pretend he was playing at a World Cup in the park, now gets to take part in another World Cup. I’m massively excited," stated the 28-year-old.
Raumi has a strong chance of starting at left-back in the opening game against World Cup debutants Curaçao. Germany will also face Yan Diomande’s Ivory Coast and Ecuador in Group E.

Our Austrian trio of Christoph Baumgartner, Xaver Schlager and Nicolas Seiwald have also been named in Ralf Rangnick’s Austria squad, as expected. All three boys are set for their first World Cup and are key figures in the team.
The standout fixture is the meeting with defending champions Argentina and the legendary Lionel Messi, while Austria will also face Algeria and Jordan in Group J. Confidence is high, but the demands are clear. "I can feel that we’re capable of achieving something big, but we have to give 100% in every game," Nici stressed.

Yan Diomande’s place at the World Cup was also little more than a formality. The Bundesliga Rookie of the Season, who shone in his first year in Germany with 13 goals, 10 assists and spectacular dribbling, has been named in the Ivory Coast squad. “This year has been incredible for me. I’m proud and thankful,” explained our youngster.
Dio already has his eye on the World Cup meeting with David Raum. “We’re team-mates, and David is my captain. It'll be nice to play against one another and to swap shirts afterwards,” stated Yan. His message to the Germany team? “I'm going to beat them,” he grinned.

1998 – to trace Norway’s last appearance at a World Cup, you have to go back 28 years and into another millennium.
Now the wait is over, with Antonio Nusa helping lead his country back onto football’s biggest stage. In head coach Ståle Solbakken’s side, Toni will now be looking to make his mark alongside superstar Erling Haaland (Manchester City). Norway will face Iraq, Senegal and France in Group I. “I’ve been thinking about the first game for a few weeks now,” he admitted. “For us, it’s about enjoying it.”
