The Blades have a really strong cohort of goalscoring options.

Sheffield United are expected to be one of the contenders for promotion next season.

The blow of not getting their immediate return to the Premier League hurt the Blades massively, and the threat of losing their top assets off the back of it still looms large.

Vinicius Souza has already left the club to move to the Bundesliga. Wolfsburg paid just shy of £13 million to sign the centre-mid. There's plenty of interest from abroad in Gus Hamer, and Michael Cooper has been linked with a move to Everton, but, so far, United have mostly held onto, and improved on, their key resources.

Even with a change of management - Ruben Selles replaced Chris Wilder after he was unable to lead his club back to the top flight - the Blades will be expected to be at the top end of the division next time out. The talent in their squad would certainly justify another high finish in the Championship.

Lee Hendrie highlights Sheffield United's ones to watch for next season

Two of their attacking options have been highlighted by Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie as ones to watch in 25/26. One new arrival, and one old signing who has so far struggled in red and white.

"I know obviously Louie Barry has gone there and we've touched on, what potential he's got, what he can bring, and, again, I think he'll be one to certainly watch out for next season," Hendrie exclusively told Football League World.

"And it's easy for me to pick, you know, like a Hamer or, you know, a [Tyrese] Campbell, Callum O'Hare, but I feel that Tom Cannon is going to be the one. I just think that he didn't really get much of an opportunity last season. I think this season, I know he's got a great eye for goal.

"Obviously, he's still relatively young at 22. I think he could be one to watch this season, I really do, for United."

Tom Cannon and Louie Barry could hold the keys to promotion for Sheffield United

With Wrexham's eyes on Kieffer Moore, there's a chance that more opportunities will come the way of Cannon in the upcoming term. His move from Leicester City, which, according to The Athletic, cost the Blades £10 million in January, was pretty much ineffective, especially compared to the loan spell he had with Stoke City just prior to it.

But what we know about the 22-year-old, and Barry, is that the goalscoring potential is there. Cannon has shown it in the Championship. The Aston Villa loanee, through no fault of his own, hasn't yet.

If the two of them live up to the potential that they have shown in their previous loan spells, it'll be hard to put a stop to Selles' side next season.
