"We hope to establish ourselves as one of Europe's great stages," said Javier Solís. "It was a necessity for the club," he told the 'Sports, inside' podcast by 2Playbook.

Works on Valencia's new stadium are proceeding on schedule and, if nothing unexpected happens, next season will be their last at Mestalla, with the move planned for summer 2027.

"In 2019 potential buyers of the current stadium knew we needed to sell, and now, with the CVC fund and Goldman Sachs, we have more strength in the market," Solís added.

"We are in a difficult sporting moment and we feel the supporters' positive energy and interest in the new stadium," he said.

"The only good thing about finishing later is that technology is more advanced," said marketing director Jorge García. "The ground will keep the Mestalla name and we expect to secure a naming partner."

"The stands will hold 70,000, with 10% hospitality. We have 40,000 season-ticket holders and, keeping roughly 80% for members and 20% for ticketing and sponsors, we expect to reach about 50,000," García said.

"We will host concerts only in summer once La Liga ends, at times that fit the neighbourhood. We have met the Benicalap Neighbours Association to set out our plan," they said.
