Vasco have pivoted to the Argentine market this window, seeking immediate impact from established leaders. According to Globo.com, the club moved from speculative buys to proven performers in the continent’s second-most competitive league.

They signed Sosa, captain of Racing, Lescano, captain of Argentinos Juniors, and Colidio, a River Plate starter. The brief was to strengthen the starting side and add experience.

The trio are viewed as starters for Pedro Emanuel, with Sosa and Colidio already winning over supporters. Leadership had thinned after the departures of Coutinho, Rayan and Vegetti.

This marks a clear break from earlier windows that backed younger non-standouts, aside from Marino Hinestroza, with Saldivia a prospect and Spinelli proven only in Ecuador. Whether the trio can help Vasco escape the Z-4 in the Brasileirão and chase one of two knockout titles remains to be seen.
