Steven Gerrard is keen on making a return to the dugout this summer, with Bristol City and Burnley among those considering the Liverpool legend.
Steven Gerrard was undoubtedly one of the best English footballers of his generation, with the midfielder inspiring Liverpool to huge success in his career.
Given his status, there was always going to be a spotlight on Gerrard after he made the decision to go into management, and it’s fair to say that he has had a mixed time of things since he switched to the dugout.
After a difficult start at Rangers, his first senior job in the game, Gerrard etched his name into the history books at Ibrox by winning the title, which ended Celtic’s dominance at the time.
However, a move to Aston Villa didn’t work out, whilst Gerrard also had inconsistent spells in his most recent role with Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ettifaq.
Therefore, he still has a lot to prove as a manager, but Gerrard is seemingly determined to show what he can do, and he has been linked with several EFL clubs in recent days. Here we provide a round-up of all the latest news involving the 45-year-old…

Perhaps the most important factor in all of this is that Gerrard is reportedly keen on returning to management, so he is actively looking for his next challenge.
It had been revealed that tax implications would be a factor in Gerrard waiting to return to management, but those exemptions are now believed to have been passed, so he will feel he is free to get back in the dugout.
Given how his time at Villa went, it’s highly unlikely that Gerrard would land a Premier League job, but he will be an attractive option for Championship clubs for multiple reasons.
So, with the ex-England international making it clear he wants to get back involved, it’s no surprise that clubs are tracking him.

Following on from that, the Independent has stated that Bristol City are ‘aiming to persuade’ Gerrard to become their next permanent boss.
It has been an underwhelming campaign for the Robins, with Gerhard Struber showing signs of promise, although many feel he wasn’t suitably backed in January, and he was sacked at the end of March, with Roy Hodgson named as interim boss for the rest of the season.
Hodgson has reiterated this was only ever a short-term deal, so Bristol City have used the past month to identify someone who can lead them for the years to come.
The chance to join the Robins may appeal, as they’re a club with huge potential, but they may not be the only Championship club looking to appoint Gerrard.

That’s because it has also been claimed that Gerrard is on Burnley’s radar after they were relegated from the Premier League.
Scott Parker remains in charge at Turf Moor right now, but he isn’t very popular with the supporters, and he could be sacked ahead of next season.
Given Burnley’s squad, and the fact they have parachute payments, they are likely to be a more attractive option to Gerrard, as they will be expected to be in the mix to win promotion next season.
Plus, the location may be favourable, as Gerrard’s family are based in the north-west, so this could be one to watch if the Clarets do decide to dismiss Parker.
Furthermore, it's been reported by Sacha Tavolieri that "things are speeding up" with regards to Burnley's decision on the manager, and they have entered talks with Gerrard's camp over him replacing his former England teammate, Parker.
