Strasbourg’s UB 90 ultras have halted their 15-minute matchday silence after two seasons and will sing throughout again when the league resumes. The group said in a statement that the protest is suspended.

The silence was intended to warn about what BlueCo are gradually imposing on Racing Strasbourg and, more widely, the risks that multi-club ownership poses to clubs’ identity, independence and future. The message has now spread well beyond La Meinau.

The decision ends the silence, not the cause, which will now take a different form. Their concern for Racing remains as strong as on day one.

They will continue to oppose multi-ownership and what they regard as the club being placed under outside control to serve a group’s interests.

UB 90 also reserve the right to bring back the silent protest if future decisions from the hierarchy make it necessary.
