Sunderland and Newcastle United are among the clubs exploring a move for West Ham full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after the Hammers’ relegation to the Championship on the final day, TeamTalk reports. The fee is said to be around £10m.
Sunderland are assessing options for another pivotal summer, with Regis Le Bris seeking added depth after leading the club into Europe for only the second time in their history. A Europa League campaign that could bring meetings with Marseille, AC Milan and Juventus will add strain, and quality is expected to be prioritised over numbers.
Wan-Bissaka is an international team-mate of Black Cats midfielder Noah Sadiki, and both have been named in the DR Congo squad for this summer’s World Cup finals in North America.
He will prepare for the tournament amid uncertainty over his future at the London Stadium as West Ham address the financial fallout of their drop. Several key players have been linked with exits, and he is the latest to attract Premier League attention.
The report said Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have already signalled intent to pursue a deal worth around £10m. Sunderland, Newcastle United and Fulham are also said to be keen on the 28-year-old, with the Wearside club’s interest framed as reflecting their ambition after a successful return to the top flight.
