Sunderland and Newcastle United ‘make enquiries’ for Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram | OneFootball

Sunderland, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have made enquiries over Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, Calcio Mercato reports.

The trio are exploring a possible Premier League deal amid uncertainty over his future at the Serie A club. Manchester United and Liverpool are said to admire him, while Paris Saint-Germain, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are also named as interested.

Sunderland are yet to make their first signing of the summer window as they prepare for their maiden Europa League campaign. They have been boosted by news Granit Xhaka looks set to remain despite strong interest from Chelsea.

Director of football Florent Ghisolfi has said stability will shape this window. He highlighted a preference to avoid wholesale changes after last summer’s refresh, and to focus on improving the current squad.

Forest, who recently received £115m for Elliot Anderson, are among the clubs to have registered interest. With multiple suitors circling, any move for Thuram would depend on how his situation develops at Juventus.
