Sunderland appoint Jack Bewley as first-team analyst under Régis Le Bris | OneFootball

Sunderland have bolstered their Academy of Light structure by appointing Jack Bewley as a first-team analyst under Régis Le Bris. He confirmed the move in a post on LinkedIn.

Bewley arrives after a 2025-26 spell as a first-team analyst intern at Rochdale. He has previously worked as a set-piece analyst intern at Norwich City and in performance analysis with FC Marshalls.

The appointment comes as Sunderland continue to strengthen their football operation following promotion back to the Premier League. The Black Cats have added quality across several departments since returning to the top flight, and further growth behind the scenes is expected as the Academy of Light set-up develops.

The club have also advertised for another senior analyst role, underlining a push to increase resources in the analysis department. While they have punched above their weight this season, there is acceptance that Premier League demands extend to staffing, infrastructure and preparation.

Bewley studied Science and Football at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating with a 2:1. He will combine his new role with an MSc in Sport Performance Analysis at the University of Worcester.

Sunderland host Chelsea in the Premier League at the Stadium of Light this weekend, with a place in Europe on the line for Le Bris’ side.
