Sunderland-linked Anguissa rated more complete than Kevin De Bruyne | OneFootball

Sunderland have been linked with Napoli midfielder Frank Zambo Anguissa ahead of the summer window, as a former Napoli player claimed he is more complete than Kevin De Bruyne.

Reports in Italy last month suggested the Black Cats were considering a move to bring the former Fulham midfielder back to the Premier League, almost five years after he joined Napoli on an initial loan that became permanent in summer 2022. The 67-cap Cameroon international has made 24 appearances in the Champions League and Europa League.

Anguissa is entering the final 12 months of his Napoli deal after an option was triggered, and talks over fresh terms are said to have stalled. AreaNapoli reports Sunderland would have to offer around €20m, and adds that AC Milan, who have qualified for next season’s Europa League, are also monitoring.

“Anguissa, all my life. Because he’s a complete, versatile player, capable of playing in both phases of the game.” He was speaking to Tutto Napoli.

“De Bruyne is an extraordinary champion, but a player of his experience must bring added value to the team. For this reason, if I had to choose, I’d choose Anguissa without a doubt.”
