Sunderland ‘make bid’ for De Ketelaere and ‘move’ for Muharemović in £64m pursuit | OneFootball

According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland have been linked with a double Serie A push worth about £64m, including a rejected bid for Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere. The Black Cats are yet to strengthen their squad this summer.

They have reportedly had an offer of around £29.9 million for the Belgium international turned down.

De Ketelaere, 25, is currently at the World Cup with Belgium, scoring two goals and supplying an assist in four matches.

He joined Atalanta in 2023 after an initial loan from AC Milan became permanent and has 32 goals and 31 assists in 142 appearances. He is a Club Brugge academy graduate.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are also admirers of Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemović. Bournemouth and his former club Juventus are understood to be monitoring the Bosnia and Herzegovina international.

Sunderland are making a strong move for the 23-year-old, who could cost up to £34.1 million this summer.
