Sunderland are weighing summer additions after finishing seventh under Régis Le Bris and qualifying for the Europa League, with Bild linking them to Arthur Avom and The West Ham Way noting interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The German outlet says Union Berlin are tracking the Lorient midfielder, and that Sunderland and Bournemouth are also watching the 21-year-old Cameroon international. It adds he made 31 Ligue 1 appearances last season, scoring twice with one assist.

Le Bris knows the French market and Lorient well, so the profile fits Sunderland’s model. Midfield competition is strong, yet European football could prompt a move for a younger option.

The West Ham Way reports that Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle United, Fulham and Fenerbahce are monitoring Wan-Bissaka. It is suggested Everton are currently the most advanced, and West Ham could seek around £15-20 million.

The 28-year-old has extensive Premier League experience with Crystal Palace, Manchester United and West Ham, and would be an ambitious target. Sunderland have Trai Hume and Nordi Mukiele on the right, with Hume often used in multiple roles.

From Sunderland’s side, Wan-Bissaka appears one to watch rather than anything close. Squad depth remains a priority as Florent Ghisolfi balances incomings with potential exits and registration.
