Sunderland reveal 2026/27 hummel goalkeeper kits honouring Jimmy Montgomery | OneFootball

Sunderland have unveiled three hummel goalkeeper shirts for 2026/27, a bespoke range celebrating club great Jimmy Montgomery, the 1973 Wembley hero and record appearance holder with 627. According to Sunderland Echo, the collection forms part of a wider tribute.

The home design mirrors the green and red worn by Montgomery in the win over Leeds United at Wembley.

All three shirts carry his signature at the back of the neck, while the away strip is yellow with the signature repeated across the body.

The third option is orange, using the club’s old ship crest, with 627 picked out repeatedly in a darker shade.

The launch follows the renaming of the West Stand as The Jimmy Montgomery stand ahead of 2025/26. A new statue is planned for installation at the end of Legend’s Way in early 2027, with Bob Stokoe’s statue to be moved alongside, echoing their celebrated meeting after the 1973 triumph.
