Sunderland have outlined how ticket ballots will operate as their new fan membership went live at 10am on Tuesday.
The club said in a Q&A that three tiers are offered. Season Ticket Plus is for existing holders with bonus content, events and access to an away ballot. Black Cats Adult is for non holders with content, events, access to the season ticket waiting list and home ballot entries, and Black Cats Academy mirrors the adult tier for children.
Season ticket holders keep existing privileges. Access to Europa League home matches is unaffected, and cup ties will follow the usual process with a priority window to secure your seat.
Home tickets will first be balloted among Black Cats Adult and Academy members. Any seats left go to general sale, although last season’s demand suggests this may be rare. Applicants can state preferred areas or opt for no preference, are assigned seats accordingly, then must complete purchase to confirm.
One membership equals one ticket. Groups can link accounts and apply together, and if adjoining seats are unavailable, they can decide whether to proceed. Under-16 accounts must be linked to an adult member, and a seat move can be arranged before the game if an under-16 is not automatically placed next to the adult.
For away games, 10% of allocations is reserved for a ballot, which reduces supply for the Black Cat Points scheme but does not change how it runs. Around 90% will continue to be released across phases one and two, with any leftovers after those and the ballot moving to phase three for points holders.
